April 2025 – Gathering with Indigenous Communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

During the field trip conducted in April 2025, the research team, together with collaborators from Universidad Popular del Cesar, met with Indigenous communities in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta to create spaces for dialogue and reflection on the social norms that perpetuate gender-based violence (GBV).

The gathering provided an opportunity to listen to their concerns, recognize the communities' own knowledge and wisdom, and identify opportunities for transformation rooted in their lived experiences. Additionally, training needs were identified in areas related to the development of financial skills and awareness of the rights that protect the well-being of girls, boys, and women.
